Synopsis

Ethan, a young filmmaker, is passionate about writing scripts and directing films. But, he forgets about a film race he was wanting to enter into. He remembers about the race, but with only three days to spare. With help from his closest friends Daniel and Laura, the group is determined to finish the film before the deadline, even through all the mishaps. But with 3 days turning into 2, will they finish in time to make it to the festival, or, will their film fall onto the cutting floor?

Robert Michael Szot-Ethan

 

Robert has performed in multiple stage productions and films, including starring as Martin Tannenbaum to a sold-out house at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall (NYC). Robert performed over 9 shows in 3 days to a crowd of over 20,000 in A Christmas Carol, and also as Tiny Tim in "Ebenezer Scrooge", performing in 25 shows. Robert's film resume includes "White Rabbit", an intense dramatic piece recently exhibited at the Zurich Film Festival, and On Angel's Wings, which recently premiered on the UP Channel. Robert loves to write scripts, study the weather, build computers, draw maps, and spend time with his family and his two cats.

Devion Camp-Daniel

 

Devion Camp is a 7th grade student at W. E. Greiner Academy Middle School and is currently being represented by The Campbell Agency. His first lead role was in Hiding in Plain Sight, an independent film. Some of his most recent bookings are: Miracle on 34th street at Dallas Childrens Theater (as James Mara),  J.C. Penney print ad, American Heart Association, and the North Texas Giving Day short film. When Devion is not working, he is actively in the dance studio, enhancing his acrobatic skills on the trampoline, or reading series of books.

 

Kara Rainer-Beth

 

Kara Rainer grew up in Tyler, Texas. At a young age, she began writing songs and plays to entertain her family. Using her rank as the oldest sister, she persuaded her 2 sisters to participate in her musicals. Kara studied classical piano and voice, focusing on singing for many years until acting caught her attention. Kara has had the pleasure of working on commercials, television shows, music videos, and several independent films. Her national television debut was for Discovery's ID Channel in the lead role for Unusual Suspects: Gruesome Discovery. Recently, she spent two weeks in Miami and Key West shooting a TV pilot in a lead comedic role. Kara began to write screenplays about 3 years ago while listening to stories about her mother's childhood. Her screenplay Rorrim, was recently nominated in the Beverly Hills Film Festival.

 

Jade Nickol-Laura

 

Jade is a talented young actress whose credits have included From Above, Emma's Wish, and The Coconut Syndrome. Jade loves hanging out with her family, friends and pets. She loves giving back to her community, such as helping in the Special Olympics, singing for our community, and volunteering when needed. Jade enjoys outdoor activities like skateboarding, swimming, climbing trees, and bicycling. She also likes drawing and designing clothing, writing stories, and songs.

 

Morgan Massey-Marie
 

Morgan is a spunky 9 year old actress and singer, with just a few years under her belt. She was destined to be in the industry, because she has been singing and dancing to keep her family laughing even before she was able to speak. After patiently watching her older sister, Hannah Rae, during her acting and singing classes, Morgs asked if she too could go to classes. After one class, she was bitten by the entertainment bug. Her resume includes such credits as 'Lothario', 'Black and White', and 'The Heart of Leia', along with several commercials such as Hills Brand Pet Food, Dallas Area Rapid Transit, Be a Light PSA, and American Heart Association. She is excited to see where this road will take her. The opportunity to play different characters, bring them to life, and travel and meet new people...she feels like one lucky girl!

 

Amani Hood-Sarah

 

Amani has possessed a passion for performing in front of audiences since she was old enough to walk. As an aspiring actress she has consistently proven to be more than a novice and she has all the attributes of a professional. Amani’s dedication to her craft and her energetic personality has allowed her to receive positive feedback from some of L.A.'s top casting agents and directors.  Amani also attends Dallas Young Actors Studio where she continues to enhance her knowledge in the areas of comedy and drama scripts, improvisation, cold reading, commercials, monologues, and scene study. Some of Amani’s most recent stage productions were A Christmas Carol and Miracle On 34th St at the Dallas Children’s Theater. In her spare time Amani enjoys gymnastics, singing, jumping on her trampoline, and spending time with her family.

 

Randy D. Shoemake-Mr. Galloway

 

Growing up in North Texas, Randy has wanted to be an actor from a very young age. In June of 2014 Randy started auditioning to make his dream a reality in addition to expanding artistic creativity from guitar and piano. After being given a supporting role at his first audition in the film "Fry St" working closely with director Andrew Saladino, Randy has managed to quickly expand his resume in an astonishingly short amount of time. Since his first supporting film role, Randy's venture in acting has expanded from film to stage with his theatre debut in Gore Vidal's "The Best Man" directed by Brad Speck with Denton Community Theatre and later returning to portray "Inspector Hearne" in Agatha Christie's "Witness For The Prosecution" with director Sharon Veselic.

Roni Hummel-Mrs. Addington

 

Roni's film career started at the age of 8 when she was on the set of Indian Paint with Johnny Crawford. Later on she worked with Robert Blake in Corky (1972) and then on to Semi Tough with Burt Reynolds and Kris Kristopherson. After raising a family, she picked up acting and has worked in several independent films as well as commercials and TV series. Roni currently resides in the Dallas Fort Worth area.

Script Revised

Our script has now been revised, and most of the actors have been cast. Stay tuned for further updates!

All of the roles have been cast, and the final draft has been created. We will start filming very soon. More updates coming!

Filming Started

Today, we started principal photography of The Filmmaker. The film will be edited soon after and will be submitted to film festivals. Please stay tuned as we will be announcing important dates in the coming months.
